Alltite hires Viega exec as CFO

Wednesday, March 30th 2016

Alltite Inc. has a new chief financial officer.

The company, which sells and rents industrial tooling for the energy and aircraft industries, hired Nathan Spearman for that role.

Spearman had been the CFO of Viega, a German-based piping company, since 2005.

“We feel honored that someone with (his) experience, integrity and financial acumen has selected our team,” says Tom Smith, Alltite’s CEO. “He has already set a tone that inspires executive partnership and lays a foundation for future growth.”

Smith says Manhattan Resources, a Houston-based executive search firm, aided the search for a CFO to fill a months-long vacancy.

“He’s been a really great fit culturally and with his knowledge and experience,” Smith says.

Already, Spearman has begun a process to automate Alltite’s expense reporting and has taken steps to streamline the company’s financial statement preparation.

Besides finance, Spearman also oversees Alltite’s human resources and information technology functions.

Spearman joined Alltite last month.

He describes Allite as an exceptional company with visionary leadership and “incredible” potential.

“It was a great opportunity,” Spearman says. “It’s a growing business that has a lot of things to look forward to.”

Working for Alltite, he says, also presented an opportunity to continue working in Wichita.

Viega announced earlier this month a decision to relocate its headquarters to Denver, taking more than 100 jobs in the process. The move is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.

Spearman spent more than 10 years with Viega and worked with Vanguard Piping Systems in McPherson before that. He was retained when Viega bought Vanguard in 2006. Spearman had been that company’s CFO and treasurer.

He is a graduate of MidAmerica Nazarene University.

Spearman was a 2010 Wichita Business Journal CFO Awards honoree in 2010.
